4.1.1. DATA CHANNELS

Data Channel Properties
Source
  • Indicates where the data is collected from. ex CAN, Analog, Internal etc
 
Label
  • Freely editable channel name
 
Function
  • Defines what functionality the data will have.
  • ex OIL PRES function, the channel will be use for the oil pressure alarm.
  • ex RPM function, the data will be used for controlling the shift lights, logging start etc.
 
Display Units
  • Sets the user preferred display format and units for the channel.
 
Log Rate
  • Defines the data log frequency of this channel.
 
Gauge min    
  • Sets the bottom grid index label in numeric with chart objects
  • Also sets the first label in dial gauge and bar-graph objects
 
Gauge max    
  • Sets the top grid index label in numeric with chart objects
  • Also sets the last label in dial gauge objects
 
Low          
  • Sets the value bellow which the parameter is displayed in "Value Low" color (blue in the Plex color theme)
 
High         
  • Sets the value bellow which the parameter is displayed in  "Value High" color (red in the Plex color theme)
  • If the values is between the the display color is "Value Normal" (green in the Plex color theme)
 
Display Refresh
  • Defines how fast the data values will be update on the display pages.
  • A slower refresh rate sometime helps make the data more readable.
  • Does not affect the actual data rate in the background used for logging, alarms and other functions
     
    Display Filter
  • A low pass filter can be applied to displayed data to make them more legible if there is excesive noise
  • Does not affect the actual data rate in the background used for logging, alarms and other functions
     
    Review min
  • Defines the minimum data value that will be visible while reviewing a log file on the device screen
  • Used to scale the data for correct viewing
     
    Review max
  • Defines the maximum data value that will be visible while reviewing a log file on the device screen
  • Used to scale the data for correct viewing
