ECU CONFIGURATION

The following instructions are supplied by Omex. For any questions or clarifications contact Omex support:

ECU Compatibility

You must be using either of the following firmware versions.

600 V0.70D

710 V0.70C

The firmware version is marked on the serial number label of your ECU. If you have the wrong firmware version, your ECU must be returned to Omex for a version change. Omex will also enable the calibration for telemetry.

Enabling a calibration

If you already have an ECU on the above firmware and want to enable your calibration, contact Omex support ([email protected]) for a Serial Telemetry Setup file (STS) and follow the instruction –

600 –

- Send your calibration to the ECU by clicking ECU | Send New Calibration (ECU | Connect cannot be used!).

- Select Telemetry and Serial Telemetry Setup.

- Click Import Channel.

- Select the STS file you previously saved (RT_DASH2_12Channel_600.sts).

- Click Open and Close.

- Go to tab 3: Dashboard and set Tele1 Chan 0 and Telemetry UART to ON.

- Save the calibration selecting File | Save As.

710 –

- Connect to the ECU as normal or send the calibration.

- Select Telemetry and Serial Telemetry Setup.

- Click Import Channel.

- Select the STS file you previously saved (RT_DASH2_12Channel_710.sts).

- Click Open and Close.

- Go to tab 4: Dashboard and set Tele1 Chan 0 and Telemetry UART to ON.

- Save the calibration selecting File | Save As.

Warning

To connect to a 600 ECU that is configured to output telemetry you must connect in a different way to that described in the Omex instruction manuals.

Every time you start a new session with the ECU your calibration must be sent to the ECU by ECU | Send New Calibration.

ECU | Connect cannot ever be used. Therefore IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT A COPY OF THE INFORMATION IN THE ECU IS KEPT ON THE PC AND ON A BACKUP DEVICE.

Whenever connected to the ECU for tuning or calibrating ensure to periodically click Save, Save As or Save New Version to ensure the calibration is backed up in the event of a computer shutting down.

If you lose the copy of the calibration that is inside the ECU and have connected your PC to a different ECU, Omex may not be able to reclaim your calibration.

It is ok to power off the ECU whilst connected, the PC will pick up connection again when the ignition is turned back on. However, if MAP4000 is closed you need to reconnect by sending the calibration again.

The serial telemetry setup has to be configured as shown on the image bellow to match the Plex Omex 600 710 rs232 template.

PLEX uSDM-SDM-VMU CONFIGURATION

In the Plex Device Manager set the RS232 to Custom.

Enter the Receive Setup and Open the "OMEX 600 710 TELEMETRY.PlexRS232RXConfig" file.

Write the configuration to the dash.
