4.3.1. Setting up a new analog sensorRefer to the device Pinout and Wiring diagram to select an appropriate input for the new sensor.
After connecting a new sensor to an analog input of the device the sensor has to be setup so that the correct values can be displayed and logged.
1. In the Device Configuration/Analog Inputs table double click the input that you have connected the sensor to to display the setup window.
2. Set the "Enabled" property to "YES".
3. The Plex Device Manager software includes calibrations for many common sensors. You can click the "LOAD CALIBRATION" button to check if there is a calibration for the sensor available and load it.
4. If a matching calibration file is not found the data can be directly input. An example is provided bellow.
Calibration table example:
Sensor specification: 0 kPa at 0.5 V to 1000kPa at 4.5V
1. Set the internal units and external units to kPa.
2. Set the first table cell in the mV row to 500.
3. Set the last table cell in the mV row to 4500.
4. Set the first table cell in the Output row to 0.
5. Set the last table cell in the Output row to 1000.
6. Select all the table cells.
7. Press F5 to automatically interpolate the cell values.
It is recommended that you change the display units to the desired value from the Data table after finishing the sensor calibration setup.
