5.7. DATA LOGGING

uSDM102 / VMU900P / VMU900K (capacity 32MB / 100 log files)
There are multiple ways for starting and stopping data logging to the main memory.
When logging is active it is indicated by the led being lit green.

1. Start and stop from data channel. Set the function of any data channel to "LOGGING CONTROL". Set the Logging/Start with function to ENABLED.
When the data channel value is larger than 0 logging will start and when equal or smaller than 0 logging will be commanded to stop.
Actuall logging stop will happen when the conditions for Min Log Time and Logging Stop Hold Off Time are met.

3. Automatic start and stop depending on set conditions
The logging will start when all of the conditions are true:
Engine rpm above "Logging Start if RPM >" value.
Engine throttle positions equal or above to "Logging Start if TPS >" value.
Engine manifold pressure equal or above to "Logging Start if MAP >" value.
Vehicle speed equal or above to "Logging Start if SPEED >" value.
Vehicle longitudinal acceleration above "Logging Start if ACCEL_Long >" value.
To ignore any condition set it up so that it is always true. ex Loggin Start if TPS > -100
The conditions use data from the the respective data functions.
To prevent very small logging files being recorded the "Logging Minimum Time" should be set to a reasonable value.

SDM500 (capacity 128MB / 200 log files)
The SDM-500 has multiple ways for starting and stopping data logging to the main memory.
When logging is active it is indicated by the status led(left most one) being lit green.
If the memory is full the status led will be blinking green.

1. Manual start and stop via the "BACK" button. Press and hold the the "BACK" button for more than 3 seconds to start and do the same to stop logging.
The setting "Logging Maximum Time" can be used to automatically stop logging after the set time.
If you do not want this setting to be used you can disabled it by setting the value to 0.

2. Manual start and stop via a switch connected to In1 or In2 inputs.

To prevent very small logging files being recorded the "Logging Minimum Time" should be set to a reasonable value.

SDM550 (USB Flash Logging)
The SDM-550 has a dual function USB port. The port sets its function when the device powers up. If it detects a computer connected it will enable the USB Device
communications functions and behave as a virtual Com Port. If it detects a USB Flash Drive connected it will enable the USB Host mode.
The USB Flash drive has to be formatted with FAT2 and allocation unit size of 512. If your operating system does not allow these settings you can use a small utility
that can be downloaded from here: www.plex-tuning.com/downloads/guiformat.exe
We recommend the SanDisk Ultra Fit flash drives for their small size and good performance.

2. Start and stop from data channel. Set the function of any data channel to "LOGGING CONTROL".
When the data channel value is larger than 0 logging will start and when equal or smaller than 0 logging will be commanded to stop.
Actual logging stop will happen when the conditions for Min Log Time and Logging Stop Hold Off Time are met.
To prevent very small logging files being recorded the "Logging Minimum Time" should be set to a reasonable value.

SDM700 (capacity 1GB / 200 log files)

To ignore any condition set it up so that it is always true. ex Loggin Start if TPS > -100
To prevent very small logging files being recorded the "Logging Minimum Time" should be set to a reasonable value.

PCA2000 (capacity up to 2GB / 200 log files)
1. Start and stop from data channel. Set the function of any data channel to "LOGGING CONTROL". Set the Logging/Start with function to ENABLED.
When the data channel value is larger than 0 logging will start and when equal or smaller than 0 logging will be commanded to stop.
