QUICK INFO
Most vehicles have a vehicle speed sensor installed in the gearbox or rear differential with a suitable 0 - 12V signal.
Modern vehicles might not have such a sensor and signal because the instrument cluster and ecu receive vehicle speed information from the ABS ecu through the can bus.
STEP 1
Connect white VSS trigger wire to vehicle speed signal in either of the following options:
a. Connect WHITE wire to Vehicle Speed signal going into the ECU
b. Or connect WHITE wire to the Vehicle Speed Signal going into the instrument cluster
STEP 2
Setup input pulses/10m in menu 5.3 until car speedometer and PBC - PRO speed display show the same values.
Hints:
1. Vehicle speed information can also be obtained by installing a Plex wheel speed sensor or by using the PBC-Pro OBD option in vehicles which conform to the OBD ISO15765 specification.
2. While measuring vehicle speed pulses the PBC - PRO will detect erratic pulses and report the errors in menu 5.3. To reset the error counter press the "ENTER" button.
SAFETY WARNING!
Do NOT connect the VSS trigger wire to an ABS sensor.
